The PTA presents Faculty & Staff Appreciation!

 Monday, May 6-Friday, May 10*

*Monday, May 6- Friday, May 10: Faculty and Staff Appreciation Station: This will be a time when your kid(s) can write a note of appreciation to any of the faculty and staff. Please encourage your kids to stop by!  (8:15-8:35 am)

 

Monday, May 6: Now boarding!  Show how much you appreciate your teacher by wearing his/her favorite color. 

 

Tuesday, May 7: In flight snacks! “Treat” your teacher(s)/staff members with their favorite treat, snack or beverage.

 

Wednesday, May 8: Let’s help pack!  Show your appreciation by bringing your teacher(s)/staff members needed or favorite school supplies.

 

Thursday, May 9: Destination Appreciation!  Express thanks by bringing your teacher(s)/staff member a gift and/or make a special homemade card.

 

Friday, May 10 : ICES is “First  Class!” Show your appreciation by wearing school colors and/or ICES spirit wear!

March PTA Meeting Cancelled

The PTA meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 12 is cancelled. The Board is investing its energies this week on making the BINGO and Silent Auction event (on March 15th) a huge success and a family-fun night for all who have registered. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to our next meeting on Tuesday, April 9 at 7 PM in the cafeteria. We look forward to seeing you then!

BINGO and Silent Auction

The Island Creek ES PTA is excited to present the BINGO and Silent Auction event on Friday, March 15 (snow date: March 22). Doors open at 5:30 PM and BINGO starts at 6:15 PM! This is a HUGE event and we need your help in making it all possible:

Son Plus One Sock Hop

Get ready to twist, shout and shake it all about at the Son Plus One Sock Hop! 

You must register by February 8 (please note the extended deadline due to inclement weather) for the PTA Son Plus One Sock Hop (Feb. 22) from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the ICES Gym. Cost is $10 for couple (son + 1 adult), $2 each additional son.  You provide the swinging dance moves, we’ll provide pizza, drinks, dessert, DJ & photographer!  Come dressed in your best 1950’s outfit or come casual, just come ready to have fun!

Hawk Pantry

The Hawk Pantry needs your help!

The Hawk Pantry provides instant lunch meals, healthy snacks, school supplies and toiletry items for students in need. Due to the recent government shutdown, the number of students using the pantry has drastically increased. Many students, who use the pantry, rely on the food provided through this service.

In order for the pantry to continue to provide this service, we need your help.  We created an Amazon wish list with items needed.  If you would like to donate through this site, you can order off the list and have items sent directly to the school (be sure to choose Hawk Pantry address for delivery). If you are considering donating, and would rather pick up items at your local grocery store, there will be a box inside the front office where you can drop off your items during normal business hours.  The pantry is in need of microwavable non-perishable lunches, protein bars, single serve cereals boxes, breakfast bars, chocolate milk, Gatorade, Capri Suns, and healthy individually wrapped snacks.

If you prefer to contribute to the pantry by donating your time, we are in need of volunteers! Please contact Ms. Julie Riley at jsriley@fcps.edu or Ms. Vicky Wuerfel at vkwuerfel@fcps.edu.
