Bingo & Silent Auction

The Island Creek ES PTA is excited to present the BINGO and Silent Auction event on Friday, March 27. Doors open at 5:30 PM and BINGO starts at 6:15 PM!

We are requesting that you consider donating a GIFT CARD of your choosing for the event. OR do you (or a family member) have a hidden talent or skill or membership that would be awesome to share with the ICES community? See the letter that went home in 2/27 Thursday folders for ideas!

Please deliver your donation by March 9th in an envelope marked “PTA Bingo and Silent Auction”.  You may deliver in person or through your student. Also, you can email to arrange something outside of a giftcard. Thank you for your continued support of ICES PTA…see you March 27th! 

This is a HUGE (and hugely FUN) event and we’ll need your help in making it all possible, stay tuned for sign up genius with details.


Snuggle Up & Read

The Island Creek Elementary School PTA is excited to bring Snuggle Up and Read back for a second year on February 28, 2020 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Island Creek! The “price” of admission is new book donation(s) to restock our classroom libraries. 

Please bring your cozy blankets, wear your comfy PJs and slippers, bring a stuffed animal as you wish, and each family member should bring a book or two to read. 

We will be serving free hot chocolate and will have some special guest readers throughout the evening!

Book lists for each grade are attached below. Want to order online? You can do that through the online book fair! Just show your receipt for entry as books will be sent to your home. Donation box(es) will be available for a few weeks after Snuggle Up & Read or you may send them in with your child.

Holiday Shop & Vendor Fair

On Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 10 AM -1 PM, the cafeteria will be transformed into a shopping experience for even our youngest students.

This is an Island Creek favorite! Students, with the help of volunteers, will be able to purchase gifts and have them wrapped on site, keeping things a secret!

Hot cocoa and candy canes will be provided for all those who participate. This is not a fundraiser! The PTA earns no money – we pass on inexpensive prices to you as a service event. Bring your kiddos and help them learn about gift giving and budgeting. 

We will also be holding a holiday market for adults in attendance. While your kids are shopping in the holiday shop, why not check off your gift list with items from local businesses?

Fliers and budget envelopes will be sent home closer to the event.

Box Tops . . . Delivery?

The next Box Top collection is coming up on Tuesday, October 29, but you can send them in anytime!

A couple of quick reminders/updates as we’re getting used to the new online submissions.

  • Don’t forget to assign your child’s classroom to your account so they get credit toward a lunch time popsicle party! Congratulations to Ms. Mickle’s class for September!
  • Do you use a grocery delivery/pick up service? You can still submit box tops! Just forward the receipt to The receipt must be forwarded from the email address associated with your already-created Box Tops account, so they know which school to credit!

Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact AID

Beginning on October 21, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child’s school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3.  All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 30. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.
